Bold Vision and Genuine Purpose- Getting blue collar workforce in the Facilities Management Sector to be on the right side of technology!

Jul 20

Between 2012 and 2017 I consulted over 20 companies from the manufacturing and industrial sector  (managed Energy Efficiency projects worth over $5M) with mandates from the management to find ways to lower operational/energy costs, improve productivity as compared to the "Business as usual " scenario.

As a result, we had the opportunity to spend a lot of time on the shop floor along with the operations & maintenance team conducting experiments, PoV (Proof of Value) projects and learnt immensely in the process.

Our success in helping our clients achieve unprecedented results was inspired by the blue collared workforce in a lot of ways. Their commitment and knowledge levels which were at most times beyond the books, was truly amazing.

Early in the process of my consulting journey, I realized that there is a lot that can be done with data that businesses have and it was not only a technology issue, if this opportunity had to be converted into business and social value.

We have realized that the only to achieve real (digital) transformation is to help the blue collared workforce work in environments where decision making process is going to largely machine driven (or automated) and more importantly open up new opportunities for them, which were once considered closed for many.

EnergyTech Ventures is targeting to engage (directly and indirectly) with 1,00,000 blue collared workforce in the #FacilitiesManagement industry, work with our partners to up skill them and get them future ready. That would be the start of real digital transformation and we will see magic happening.

Yours Sincerely,

Umesh Bhutoria
